"Night and the Gargoyle"

Starring: Nyx and Roxboro

Nyx, the goddess of the night, and Roxboro the Gargoyle
This idea just sort of popped into my
head when an oldie by ELO came over the car radio: "Turn to Stone"
Okay, I confess -- I watch cartoons,...
'Gargoyles', especially.
Ben is a tall man with broad shoulders,
and it would be such a shame not to
exploit that, so I asked him how he
would like to be a gargoyle --
-- he said, "Yeah, cool!"
I'm currently -- off and on -- working
on a gargoyle, or should I say, gar-girl, costume for myself.
Even though it is Night that brings the
gargoyle Roxboro to life (and he is
grateful to her for that), it is his soulmate, Chastain, that he is waiting anxiously for.

Here is Ben, as "Roxboro",
waiting in the greenroom
for our cue to go onstage
at Rivercon '96.
As you can see, because
of his wings (which I have
got to rework), the poor
guy has to sit backwards
on the chair.
Just love the expression!!

He waits -- and he waits --

Mugging for the camera, as usual --
Doesn't Roxboro have just the most
magnificent scowl ever?

-- flap! --
Nyx spreads her wings -- the veil of Night.
A lot of folks have asked how I got the gloves to
stay up so high and secure at the shoulders.
Easy -- idiot mittens.
